Puffed Rice Balls

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. I know I did! This week’s recipe is the perfect treat for this holiday season. This week’s recipe is for Puffed Rice Balls! These balls are the perfect treat to bring to any holiday party and are very easy to make. Here’s how to make them:

Here is what you will need:
Corn syrup, sugar, water, vanilla, butter, baking soda, salt, and puffed rice.IMG_0731

First, mix the corn syrup, water, and sugar. Cook until it reaches the firm ball stage (about 245-250° F).IMG_0733

Remove from heat and add vanilla, butter, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.IMG_0734

Quickly pour over the puffed rice and stir.IMG_0735

Then, form the rice into balls before they cool.IMG_0741

Puffed Rice Balls

  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • Cook to firm ball
    Remove from heat and add

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Pour over 2 6 oz. packages of puffed rice. Stir and form into balls.

    Puffed Rice

    Quick tip: Keep a bowl of cold water next to you while you are shaping the rice into balls. The mixture will still be VERY HOT so if you get your hands wet first, it will keep them from being burned and the rice won’t stick to your hands as badly.
