Applesauce Cookies

Happy Friday everybody! This week I have another cookie recipe for you. These applesauce cookies were really easy to make and tasted really good. A single batch made 5 dozen cookies and the best part is you probably have most of the ingredients already and you have to hand mix the dough so no electric mixer is needed! Here’s how to make them:

You will need: shortening, sugar, baking soda, flour, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, eggs, and applesauce. (You can also add chocolate chips or nuts if you want)IMG_0887

First blend together the shortening and the sugar.IMG_0888

Add all of the dry ingredients next and mix well.IMG_0889 IMG_0890

Finally, add the eggs (beaten) and the applesauce and mix well.IMG_0891 IMG_0892

Use spoons to scoop cookies onto a greased baking sheet.IMG_0893

Bake at 350° F for 10 minutes.  Let cool and enjoy!IMG_0895
