Sherbet Watermelon

Happy Friday everybody!  This week I have a really fun summer dessert recipe for you.  This sherbet watermelon is super easy to make and looks really impressive when it is finished and served.  I made it this past weekend for the Fourth of July and it was a big hit!  Here is how to make it:

First, line a metal bowl with plastic wrap and place in the freezer.  While the bowl is getting cold, set out your lime sherbet to soften.  Once the sherbet is softened, take the bowl out of the freezer and spread the lime sherbet evenly around the edges of the bowl.  This becomes the rind of the watermelon.  IMG_2203Place the bowl back in the freezer and take out your raspberry sherbet to soften.  Once the raspberry has softened, stir in your chocolate chips and scoop into the bowl.  IMG_2202IMG_2204Cover the top with plastic wrap and freeze until solid.  When you are ready to serve, tip the watermelon out onto a cutting board and slice.IMG_2206
